My Tested Print Settings, Saved in Every File
Most 3D print files you buy are just a shape. You download it, then spend an evening guessing at layer height, speed and orientation, and the first print still comes out fuzzy. My files are different: every download includes a Bambu 3MF project with the print settings I tested already saved in, plus a plain STL.
What "tested settings included" actually means
Before a design goes in the shop, I print it at home over and over, changing one setting at a time until small details come out smooth and clean. When it's right, I save that exact setup into the 3MF project file:
- The print settings I landed on for that design, not a generic default profile
- The orientation each piece prints in, so small details face the right way
- The plate layout, so you're not arranging parts yourself
- Each piece as its own object, so colors can be assigned per piece
Open the project in Bambu Studio, check your filament and press print. There's no tuning and no "hope this profile works." My settings are recorded on my own Bambu Lab P2S and A2L. A few designs with very fine detail, like the door hangers, are set up for a 0.2 mm nozzle, and the listing always says so.
Is it a pre-sliced file?
Close, but better. A 3MF project isn't locked G-code. It opens with everything already set up, and you can still change anything you want: swap a color, scale it, or adjust a setting for your printer. If you use OrcaSlicer, the project opens there too. Here's how to open a 3MF file so the settings actually load.
Multicolor on an AMS, or one color
This is the part people don't expect. Almost every piece in my files is its own object, so on an AMS you can give each charm, letter or face its own color, or print the whole thing in one color. Color swaps take a couple of clicks in the slicer.
Not on Bambu? The STL is always included
Every download also includes a plain STL, so any printer and any slicer works. You'll set things up yourself, and 3MF vs STL: what you're actually buying explains the difference.
Files with tested settings
- Phone wristlet files: football, baseball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, pumpkin, ghost, candy corn and mouse ear
- Halloween & fall files: welcome door hangers and stacked jack-o'-lantern candle holders
- Stroller name tag file and ice cream cone popsicle holder file
- Every 3D print file in the shop
Common questions
Do I need a Bambu Lab printer?
The 3MF with my saved settings is set up for Bambu Studio. Any other printer can use the included STL.
Why pay for a file when free ones exist?
You're paying for the testing, so the first print comes out right instead of the fifth. I wrote more about that in why pay for a file when free ones exist.
Can I sell what I print?
Files come with a personal-use license: print as many as you like for yourself and as gifts. Selling prints needs a separate written commercial license. See the license and can you sell what you print?.
