How do I get my files after I buy?
Right away. The download link lands in your inbox the moment you check out, and it's on your order confirmation page too. No shipping and no waiting, so you can print it tonight.
What's in a download?
Most designs come with two files: a Bambu 3MF project with my tested print settings, orientation and plate layout already saved in it, and a plain STL for any other slicer. Each listing spells out exactly what's included, like part counts, nozzle size and what's already set up.
What's the difference between the 3MF and the STL?
An STL is only the shape. It has nowhere to store layer height, speeds or orientation, so your slicer uses whatever profile you happen to have loaded. A 3MF is a project file: the shape plus my settings, already applied. If a free file has ever come out wrong for you, the 3MF is the fix. More in 3MF vs STL: what you're actually buying.
How do I open the 3MF so my settings load?
In Bambu Studio (or Orca Slicer), use File → Open Project, or drag the .3mf into the window. Don't use Import Model, because that keeps the shape and throws the settings away. Step-by-step: how to open a 3MF file.
Do I need a Bambu Lab printer?
No. The 3MF is set up for Bambu Lab printers, and the plain STL prints on any FDM printer with any slicer (Orca, PrusaSlicer, Cura). You'd just set up your own settings for the STL.
Do I need an AMS or a multicolor printer?
No. Almost every piece in my files is its own object, so if you have an AMS or another multicolor setup you can give each piece its own color. If you only have one color loaded, it prints beautifully in a single color too.
Can I change the colors?
Yes, and that's my favorite part. Click a piece in your slicer and assign it any filament you like. Match team colors, a kid's room or your seasonal decor. The colors in my photos are just a starting point.
Which nozzle do I need?
Most files are set up for the standard 0.4 mm nozzle. A few designs with small lettering are tuned for a 0.2 mm nozzle, and the listing says so up front. Not sure which to use? 0.2 vs 0.4 nozzle for small prints walks through it.
I'm brand new to 3D printing. Where do I start?

Can I sell what I print?
My files are for personal use: print as many as you like for yourself, your family and your friends, but not to sell. Some designs can be licensed for commercial use. Email support@3dprintedmom.com with the design and what you have in mind. Full terms are in the digital file license.
Can I share the files with a friend?
Please don't. Send them the link instead! Sharing or re-uploading the files isn't allowed under the license, and every purchase helps me keep testing and designing new ones.
My download link isn't working, or a file won't open.
Check your spam or promotions folder for the download email first. If a file still won't open or looks like it's missing a piece, email support@3dprintedmom.com with your order number and I'll help sort it out.
Can I return a digital file?
Because a file can't be un-downloaded, digital purchases can't be returned or exchanged once the files have been downloaded. If something is wrong with the file itself, email me and we'll make it right.
Finished prints (printed & shipped)
How long until a finished print ships?
Finished prints are made to order, usually within 3–5 business days. You'll get an email with tracking the moment it ships.
How much is shipping?
US shipping is a flat $8.00, and free on orders over $45. Express is $15.00 (1–2 business days in transit). Printing takes the same 3–5 business days either way, and everything ships from our home studio in Nebraska.
What are finished prints made of?
PLA, a sturdy plant-based plastic. It's the same material used for cookie cutters and kids' toys. Wipe clean with a damp cloth (no dishwasher!). See product safety for care and age guidance.
How do the color choices work on finished prints?
The swatches on each finished print are the filament spools actually on my shelf right now, so what you pick is exactly what gets printed. When a color runs out it disappears from the site until I restock.
What if a finished print arrives broken?
Made-to-order items can't be restocked, but if anything arrives damaged or isn't what you expected, email us within 14 days and we'll reprint or refund it, your choice. Full details are in our return and refund policy.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes! If you're near the Omaha and Gretna area, email support@3dprintedmom.com after you order and we'll arrange a pickup time and place that works. It saves you the shipping cost.
