About Aly
Hi, I'm Aly 👋
I'm a Nebraska mom with a 3D printer (okay, more than one) humming along next to the laundry pile. It started with one little print for my kids, and then everyone wanted one.
What nobody tells you when you bring a printer home is how much of it is guesswork. I downloaded files, pressed print, and got fuzzy text, stringy edges and tiny pieces that popped right off the plate. Most tutorials were written for people who already knew the vocabulary. So I started testing: one setting at a time, the same design over and over, writing down what actually changed the result.
Why my files are different
- My tested settings come inside the 3MF. The exact settings, orientation and plate layout I landed on after printing each design over and over. Open the project and press print.
- Almost every piece is its own object. Give each one its own color on an AMS, or print it all in one color. Your call.
- A plain STL is always included, so any printer and any slicer works.
- Designed for real life: game days, school bags, Halloween doors and the little things that make a house feel like yours.
If you're new to this
I wrote Before You Press Print for the version of me who had just unboxed her first printer. It's the plain-English guide I wish I'd had, with my complete tested 0.4 mm and 0.2 mm profiles (recorded on my Bambu P2S and A2L). You'll also find free how-tos on the blog and a Start Here page to find your way around.
Still a family shop
I still print and ship finished pieces for anyone who'd rather skip the printing part. Every order, whether it's a file or a finished print, supports our small family shop. Thank you! 🩷
